J. married Casey Packard in 1985 and they have shared many adventures together, none greater than raising four children. They are now enjoying two adorable grandchildren. Casey teaches writing at BYU and UVU. Biography

Volunteer

J. has volunteered as a leader for Boy Scouts and other youth groups for over 30 years, introducing them to new experiences and new confidence, from spelunking to climbing and rappelling in every corner of Utah.

J. is a technology entrepreneur and executive, leading companies in the software, medical and education industries. His exceptional decision making and communication skills have propelled growth in diverse enterprises.

Affordability

J. will focus tax policies on outcomes support affordability by maintaining tax rates that don’t over-burden families, while still providing the world-class services that attract both businesses and families to Utah County.

Transparency

J. will seek to move at least one commission meeting per month to 6:00pm to allow more people to participate in commission meetings. J. will also explore the possibility of holding one commission meeting per quarter in other locations in the county.

Accountability

As a commissioner, I will remain accountable to the people of Utah County by responding to constituent messages and meeting with constituents in the commission office.


Why I’m Running

Utah County is a great place to live and I’m running to make sure that it’s a place where our children can afford to live in the future. I believe every person in the County deserves the full protection of the Constitution, regardless of their immigration status, gender, sexual orientation, or political affiliation.
